Boehringer Ingelheim Backend Developer (f/m/d) in Vienna, Austria

The position

As of now our IT Engineering Chapter is looking for an experienced, technology focused and team-oriented Backend Developer to join our SMART platform team. SMART is an intuitive, AI enhanced home base for advanced models which helps to analyze and improve complex bioprocesses. This laboratory digitalization enables Boehringer Ingelheim to leverage data effectively, to improve the drug development process which leads to higher quality and increased efficiency.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Use state-of-art technologies, programming languages and frameworks to design and implement business logic, backend services and architecture for custom applications.

  • Develop high-quality code based on defined user stories, including unit/integration tests and code documentation of suitable quality for the product increments in rapid iterations.

  • By creating and applying automation tools and scripts for recurring tasks and test automation, you ensure efficient and reliable systems.

  • Support, maintenance and optimization of our development and production system environments including the continuous delivery pipeline.

  • By applying agile methodologies, you are an integral part of the product development team and work closely with the product owner to deliver a fully functioning and scalable application.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master´s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related/equivalent discipline.

  • Professional experience in developing backend technologies, using state-of the art programming languages (Python) and experience in modern backend technologies and frameworks, API design and development.

  • Working experience in CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins as well as experience in containerization (Docker/Singularity) and container orchestration (K8s/OpenShift; OpenDevStack).

  • Proven knowledge in Microsoft Azure, Node.js, TypeScript is welcomed.

  • Being able to communicate technical issues in a straightforward manner.

The minimum gross annual salary according to the collective bargaining agreement for this position is EUR 43,548.40 (full time), although the actual salary is based on your technical skills and personal competencies as well as your professional experience.
