Basic purpose of the job

Insight Generation Manager is responsible for supporting therapeutic area teams with medical insight management. The role involves ensuring proper recording of scientific insights, resolving technical issues with insight capturing platforms, and analyzing insights to generate actionable data. The manager is expected to support identifying unmet medical needs, ensure the quality of insight management activities, and facilitate the smooth operation of the insight management cycle. They also provide study support, work with global counterparts to ensure new tools and frameworks meet local needs, and localize global guidance/training materials.

Accountabilities

Ensure that members of the Medical Customer Facing Team (MCFT) accurately record scientific insights into the relevant platforms by providing them with appropriate training and resolving any technical issues related to the insight capturing platforms.

-Timeliness and effectiveness of support to ensure quality of medical insight management activities

-Feedbacks from local users

-Improvements in local insight management performance

Review and analyze the collected insights to generate actionable strategies, using various sources including, but not limited to, MSL interactions, publications, and Medical Information inquiries.

-The frequency, quality, and impact of reports provided to internal stakeholders, as indicated by stakeholder feedback, usage of insights in decision-making, and timeliness of report deliver

-The number of unmet medical needs identified from insights and the subsequent changes made to the Medical Strategy

-The effectiveness of strategies formulated to assess and integrate insights, as indicated by the speed and accuracy of CDMA evaluations, the relevance of prioritized actions, and the efficiency of action implementation.

Collaborate with Clinical Development and Medical Affairs (CDMAs) to support consistent data collection and the generation of both structured and unstructured insights.

Continuously explore new technologies and methods of working, including machine learning/AI, in collaboration with local and global stakeholders, to provide maximum value to customers and internal stakeholders.

Job Complexity

This role is entrusted with the responsibility of managing the multitude of both global and local internal stakeholders that participate in the process of the insight management cycle.

Multiple internal interfaces exist, necessitating the need for negotiation, liaison, effective information exchange, and collaboration.

Knowledge of processes and the industry standards for Medical Affairs.

Minimum Education/Degree Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.

Required Capabilities (Skills, Experience, Competencies)

-Over 3 years of experience in Medical Affairs in the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent.

-Experience as a medical science liaison or medical advisor is preferred.

-Strong desire to expand current skill-set and knowledge in a fast-paced work environment.

-Ability to negotiate and influence across a matrix and cross-functional organization.

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Japanese and English.

-Good interpersonal skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and decision-making skills.

-Fluency in both spoken and written English.
