As part of the Payroll team, this position will serve as a resource for processing the bi-weekly and semi-monthly Payroll in compliance with corporate and local external regulatory guidelines and providing support and back up to the Senior Tax Specialist. This includes monitoring and updating master data in SAP, additional payments and deductions,interpreting and processing garnishments, performing audits and analytics, issuing off-cycle checks and wires and responding to inquiries. Works closely with the Senior Tax Specialist to maintain tax compliance of the payroll tax processes and activities between the company and federal, state and local taxing authorities.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Assists in the day to day activities to provide support and back up to the Senior Tax Specialist. This includes partnering with 3rd party vendors for compliance with our tax filing, unemployment and all activities associated with year-end to include the W-2 process. Researches and implements new tax jurisdictions and resolves tax notices with our 3rd party vendor.
Banking activities: including communication with bank re: receipt of direct deposit file, positive pay, upload for checks and daily banking activities for rejects, incorrect account numbers and stop payments.
Calculate off cycle pay, request wires, enter wire amount into SAP, and for terminated employees mail pay stub.
Work directly with HR Leave Administration related to payroll issues as a result of STD, FMLA, or other area.
Recommends and implements initiatives relating to the streamlining of processes and system upgrades.
Managing the Service Payroll mail box. Includes responding to employee inquires and business/cross functional partner inquiries.
Year end uploads and reconciliations for Personal use of company auto, Reach Awards, President's Club, Non Cash Awards, Non Qualified Deferred Compensation Plan and Mandatory Puerto Rico Christmas Bonus.
Ensures the accurate timely and efficient processing of all aspects of bi-weekly and semi-monthly and bonus payrolls according to scheduled checklist, including creating direct deposit file, 401K outbound file, checks and general ledger postings in compliance with the corporate and regulatory standards and guidelines.
Auditing of 401K limits and overall Payroll prior to issuance. Loading time files, 401K election and loan change files.
Monitor compliance with all Federal, State and local payroll tax laws for BI USA and it's subsidiaries.
Receive review and research all new or addendums to existing, State and local tax jurisdictions.
Provides timely Customer Service to internal clients with respect to queries, analyses and reports on payroll information.
High School Diploma/Certificate from Business School required; Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution preferred. A minimum of three (3) years Payroll Tax experience required with payroll processing experience preferred. Large company experience a plus.
Requires excellent knowledge of payroll practices and tax requirements.
Must be familiar with all regulatory requirements both externally and internally within BI.
Comprehensive knowledge of payroll and payroll tax procedures, and laws in a multi-state environment.
Excellent understanding of payroll tax filing requirements for Federal, State and Local entities. Professional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to be team player and customer service driven.
Strong organizational, analytical and decision making skills.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
Must be 18 years of age or older
