The purpose of this job is to:

  • Generate real world evidence (RWE) to support in-line and pipeline products.

  • Provide statistical advice on the analysis of real world data (RWD) to various internal and external stakeholders.

  • Contribute to the RWD acquisition strategy and tool evaluation.

  • Participate in the development and presentation of RWE trainings.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice in the analysis of real world data (such as medical claims, electronic health records, registries) for stakeholders in epidemiology, market access / HEOR, medical affairs, and other functional areas. These analyses may include:

  • Treatment patterns and drug utilization

  • Resource utilization

  • The incidence and prevalence of diseases and co-morbidities

  • Cost-effectiveness

  • Burden of disease

  • Comparative effectiveness and safety

  • Serve as statistical lead for internally conducted real world database studies, including writing analytical sections of research protocols and statistical analysis plans, managing delivery of analyses, and reporting results.

  • For outsourced projects, support the Study Lead in reviewing all analytical activities outsourced to external parties, including analysis plans, code lists, and interim/final results.

  • Conduct analyses, ranging from highly complex to feasibility assessments, using internally available real world data assets.

  • Assess and apply innovative methods, technologies and tools to maximize the value of RWD.

  • Evaluate real-world data sources for possible in-license/ purchase and additional analytical tools for in-house analytic needs.

  • Contribute to the development and presentation of RWE trainings.

  • Maintain records for all assigned projects and archive project analysis and associated documentation following internal BI rules

  • Ensure fulfillment of regulatory and SOP requirements for internally conducted RWE studies.

  • Recommends improvements and alternative solutions to resolve problems.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree (preferable and highly desirable: PhD) from an accredited institution and/ or post-graduate training in applied analytic disciplines, such as epidemiology, health outcomes, health informatics, biostatistics or health economics

  • Masters with seven (7) years of experience in the analysis of RWD or PhD with three (3) years of experience

  • Proficient in R and SQL for designing RWE studies. OHDSI tools and OMOP Common Data Model experience preferred.

  • Mandatory experience working with large healthcare databases such as MarketScan, EMR data, or similar.

  • Expertise in the analysis of real-world data, such as administrative claims data and electronic healthcare records.

  • Advanced knowledge of epidemiologic methods and/or health economics, such as propensity score analysis and marginal structural modeling.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, including the ability to produce documents and emails which are adapted to the needs of the audience.

  • Strong organizational, time-management and prioritization skills necessary to evaluate, plan and accomplish multiple work goals in a timely fashion.

Compensation

This position offers a base salary typically between $183,000 and $280,000. The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance based bonus and or other compensation elements.
