The Integrative Toxicology group atBoehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a Senior Scientist within NonclinicalDrug Safety-Development at the Ridgefield, CT site. The incumbent will bring network analysis to complement our laboratory-based group’s safety de-risking activities which uses state-of-the-art molecular/cell-tissue biology and biomarker technologies and immunopharmacology endpoints.

This Senior Scientist position will apply or adapt network analysis approaches to support preclinical safety assessments of novel therapeutic concepts and new molecular entities. The incumbent will bring his/her training in network biology or pharmacology to perform analysis of integrated data sources to increase mechanistic understanding of toxicology findings and predict their human relevance.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Apply or adapt network analysisapproaches to integrate and interrogate diverse data sources (molecular,cellular, and animal/human) to postulate mechanism of action for adverseeffects and predict human relevance

  • Independently communicatesresults, interacts and communicates effectively in a team setting

  • Participates in relevantexternal meetings, keeps abreast of relevant literature, generatesexternal presentations or peer-reviewed publications

Requirements:

  • PhD, DVM degree or equivalent experiencein a relevant field (e.g., Network or Systems Biology, Pharmacology;Bioinformatics)

  • Demonstrated skills in networkor systems biology/pharmacology, pathway analysis and visualization.

  • Post-doctoral experience desirable

  • Proficient in using commonbioinformatics systems, as well as molecular interaction, network/pathwayanalysis and visualization tools

  • Ability to communicateeffectively both orally and in writing, and work with others in aninterdisciplinary team environment

  • Must be willing to take a drugtest and post-offer physical (if required)

  • Must be 18 years of age orolder
