Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative intern to join our IT Information Protection and Security (IP&S) team located at our Ridgefield, CT facility. As an intern, you will work with departments throughout the organization to support the efforts of the IP&S team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

As an intern, you will support the IP&S team in protecting BI’s digital assets. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing best practices for using IIoT within a regulated environment

  • Creating programs to increase awareness of IT security topics (e.g. safe Internet use, protecting data while travelling, protecting privacy)

  • Performing assessments on internal systems to confirm compliance with BI policies and industry best practices

  • Learning best practices around protecting data and supporting user requests (e.g. firewall rules, network segmentation, lost devices, special accounts, vulnerability scans / remediation.


  • Must be an Undergraduate, Graduate, or Professional Student in good academic standing.

  • Must have completed 12 credit hours within a related major and/or other related coursework.

  • Overall, cumulative GPA (from last completed quarter) must be at least 3.000 (on 4.0 scale) or better (No rounding up).

  • Major must be related to the field of internship.

Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:

  • Understanding of IT fundamentals (e.g. system design, web applications, system administration, databases, email systems)

  • Familiarity with network security (e.g. IPS, proxy, web filtering, email filtering, firewall, APT detection, next gen firewall and so on )

  • Awareness of data security topics (e.g. encryption, DRM, tokenization, compliance , data classification and policies and so forth)

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
