Description:

Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Intern to join our Drug Metabolism/Pharmacokinetics department located at our Ridgefield, CT facility. As an Intern, you will work with scientists to learn and assist in developing cell based neutralizing antibody assays, and evaluate new methods to support neutralizing antibody (NAb) samples preparation. You will learn, implement and evaluate different types of technologies for biotherapeutic bioanalytical immunoassay methods.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in method development and evaluate noveltechnologies/platforms for neutralizing antibody assays supportingbiotherapeutic development following regulatory guidance and industrypractices.

  • Evaluate methods for optimizing sample and reagentpreparation for neutralizing antibody assays.

  • Conduct sterile tissue culture work with human/mammaliancells and evaluate cell lines for optimal NAb assay development.

  • Plan and conduct laboratory work in a safe manner,process and report technical data and maintain proper records in accordance toStandard Operating Procedures.

  • Communicate own work effectively orally and in writing;Present results at group meetings.

  • Contribute to writing assay protocols and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Must be anUndergraduate, Graduate, or Professional Student in good academic standing.

  • Must havecompleted 12 credit hours within a related major and/or other relatedcoursework.

  • Overall,cumulative GPA (from last completed quarter) must be at least 3.000 (on 4.0scale) or better (No rounding up).

  • Major must berelated to the field of internship.

DesiredExperience, Skills and Abilities:

  • Relevant courses at the undergraduate and graduate levelsand some laboratory training in ligand binding assays.

  • Experience with tissue culture is preferred.

  • Ability to work in the laboratory independently, preparereagents, pipet solutions quantitatively, and learn to operate computerizedlaboratory instrumentation is required.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United Stateswithout restriction.

  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offerphysical (if required)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
