Description:

Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Intern to join our Chemical Development department located at our Ridgefield, CT facility. As an Intern, you will be responsible for performing lab experiments to further you understanding of chemistry and skills as an experimentalist. The intern will assist in planning and executing experiments, collecting and analyzing analytical data and interpreting results. They will maintain an accurate record of their work, and provide a summary at the end of their stay.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform scientific experiments in organic chemistry with a predefined goal

  • Literature evaluation

  • Complete tasks in a safe manner within the regulations of a chemistry lab

  • Maintain proper records (lab notebook etc.)

Requirements:

  • Must be a Graduate Student in good academic standing.

  • Must have completed 12 credit hours within a related major and/or other related coursework.

  • Overall, cumulative GPA (from last completed quarter) must be at least 3.00 (on 4.0 scale) or better (No rounding up).

  • Major must be related to the field of internship.

Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with modern organic chemistry concepts

  • The ability to develop a thorough grounding in experimental chemistry.

  • A graduate student which has completed at least the second year of training in Chemistry

  • Adaptability, analytical thinking, communication, continuous learning, delivering results, integrity/ethics, planning and organizing, persistence, and energy

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including verification of your past employment, criminal history, and educational background

  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
