Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Intern to join our Formulation Sciences group in North Brunswick, NJ facility. As an Intern, you are expected to conduct scientific experiments in laboratories, discuss results from experiments with mentor scientists weekly, and present your summer project at the company wide poster presentation.

Duties & Responsibilities:
This opportunity will focus on the research and design pharmaceutical formulations through understanding the connections between the physical-chemical and material properties, process conditions, and performance characteristics. Our unique research projects offer the selected students guidance through mentors, hands-on experience with various characterization techniques and operations, and the opportunity to gain “real-world” understanding of pharmaceutical product development. Students currently pursuing both graduate and undergraduate degrees in the scientific disciplines of chemistry, pharmacy, material science or chemical engineering backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Must be an Undergraduate, Graduate, or Professional Student in good academic standing.
Must have completed 12 credit hours within a related major and/or other related coursework.
Overall, cumulative GPA (from last completed quarter) must be at least 3.000 (on 4.0 scale) or better (No rounding up).
Major must be related to the field of internship.
Desired Experience, Skillsand Abilities:
Familiarity with basic laboratory safety procedures, laboratorytechniques, and common instrumentation (such as mixers, dissolutionapparatus, HPLC, microscopy, etc)
Strong experience in chemistry, biochemical engineering, materialsscience, polymers, and/or pharmacy
Working knowledge of Design of Experiments, Quality by Design, andstatistical analysis
Previous experience in chemical laboratory and pharmaceuticalindustry experience is a plus
Good written and oral communication skills, the ability to work ina team environment and a strong desire to learn
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
Must be 18 years of age or older
