Boehringer Ingelheim Safety Engineer in Koropi, Greece

Our pharmaceutical production site in Koropi is one of the most innovative and meticulous plants across the whole country, using state-of-art equipment and having the highest standards and principles in Health and Safety.

In this role, you are ensuring the undisrupted operational continuity within Safety, and the sustainable deployment of the Health and Safety management systems and programs. This while promoting the continuous improvement of such systems and processes taking place in the site, and by playing an active role in existing and new-to-come projects.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participates in Safety and/or Internal periodical audits and performs health and safety investigations (unsafe conditions and acts, behavioural dialogues, incidents).

• Supports and/or issues work permits for critical works (with the collaboration of EHS Manager).

• Performs Workplace Risk Assessment and proposes CAPAs for eliminating risks.

• Reviews and updates the Emergency procedures & plans.

• Develops Safety specific procedures, Contractors Safety program, and guidelines of the EHS management system of the company.

• Prepares Health and Safety Key Performance Indicators [KPIs] reports.

• Monitors the Legislative directives and supports the EHS compliance representative to adapt into the Health and Safety management system.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TEAM

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering.

• At least 3 years of experience in an EHS role in an industrial environment.

• Registration at the Hellenic Labor Inspectorate (SEPE) as a Safety Technician in a regulated industry is considered a plus.

• Thorough understanding of legislation and industry regulatory requirements as well as ISO 45001, ISO 14001 standards.

• Excellent command of both Greek and English languages.

• Project management know-how within engineering or related field.

• Critical thinking, problem solving and organizational skills.

• Positive & Inclusive Attitude with a continuous improvement mindset and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
