The Position
Step into a pivotal role as the Head of Security Germany at Boehringer Ingelheim. In this key position, you will take full responsibility for the security areas of our operations, from site security to business continuity management.
Your expertise will guide the implementation of global security strategies, ensuring the effective safeguarding of all focal areas in the region. You will be instrumental in identifying, developing, and managing the company's security strategies and programs in collaboration with the global leadership team.
Join us and play a strategic role in advising decision-makers at local, regional, and global levels, while continuously assessing and managing risks.
Tasks & responsibilities
As Head of Security Germany, you are accountable for the security functions of Boehringer Ingelheim (e.g., on-site and supply chain security, travel, and expat security) and manage the implementation of global security strategies, standards, and programs as well as local adaptations.
With your expertise as great coach in security topics you ensure a qualified security organization and proactively guide colleagues regarding security processes and regulations.
Moreover, you lead the development of regional projects and initiatives, and coordinate their implementation.
You monitor local security and crisis management systems for efficient operation, ensure operating budget adherence with respect to long-term goals and manage ad-hoc budget expenditures as required.
In collaboration with the global security leadership team, you develop a strategy for reduction of risks, manage crises and incidents and ensure legal and corporate compliance across your area of responsibility considering global, local, and regional regulatory requirements and standards.
The counseling and communication to the regional management team regarding (geo)political developments within the region is also part your new profile and includes the representation of security-related interests in projects and meetings.
Finally, you are a role-model for leadership and integrity who’s driving continuous improvement in culture and constantly looks for efficiencies and good collaboration towards other enabling units and business stakeholders.
Requirements
Academic degree (e.g., MSc, MBA) in security, risk/ crisis management or comparable with extensive professional experience in Security Management
Considerable leadership competences and experience
Extensive knowledge about geopolitical/national safety requirements with keen perception skills, resilience, perseverance, and confidence
Competences in assessment and compliance, extensive technical understanding
Ability to act as Change Agent
Resilient team player with interpersonal and intercultural competences working in a diverse, cross-functional environment
Excellent communication skills in English and German and across all corporate levels and management functions with the ability to differentiate between regular and crises communication
