Boehringer Ingelheim Occupational Health & Safety Officer in Fornovo San Giovanni, Italy

THE POSITION

The Occupational Health & Safety Officer will be part of the Occupational Health and Safety team of our BIDACHEM strategic chemical hub in Fornovo Sangiovanni (BG), reporting directly to the Occupational Health and Safety Manager.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Identification and assessment of risks and measures for the safety and healthiness of the workplace (ex art. 28 c.2 del d.lgs 81/2008 ), in compliance with current legislation on the basis of specific knowledge of the company organization

  • Supervise the observance by individual workers of the regulations in force, as well as the company provisions on safety and hygiene at work and the use of personal protective equipment made available to them

  • Analysis of non-conformities and accidents and/or near accidents and the proposal of possible corrective actions necessary to remove the related root causes

  • Development of security procedures for the various company activities and verifying the implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions

  • Propose information and training programs for workers and company personnel and provide the information referred to in l’art. 36 del D.lgs 81/2008 e s.m.i.

  • Training activities and compliance by contractors with current regulations, as well as company provisions on safety and environmental protection

  • Collaborate in the management of incidents, near incidents, proposals for improvement in the field of corporate EHS & Security and process data, indices and trends

  • Manages CAPAs in EHS&S.

  • Collaborate in periodic internal and external auditing activities in compliance with the dictates of current legislation, Group guidelines and Std ISO 14001 e ISO45001

  • Collaborate in the management of secure work permits (opening/closing) as well as checks and controls of the systems and safety devices in charge of the EHS & Security function

  • Collaborate with the RSPP in the development, maintenance and improvement of the company's Management Systems (Environment and Safety) and the documentation of which they are composed

  • Support the inclusion in the IT system of documentation relating to the environmental, safety and security management systems of the plant

Requirements:

  • Degree in a technical field, preferably chemistry

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position in chemical companies

  • Good knowledge of English and Excellent Italian language

  • Possession of the qualification of ASPP

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office and SAP tools

  • Knowledge of Safety Management Systems ((ISO 45001, allegato B al D.Lgs. 105/2015 e s.m.i.) and preferably in possession of training "Qualification criteria for trainers for health and safety at work" and training as an Internal Auditor of Safety Management Systems

  • Proactivity and problem-solving skills

  • Determination, spirit of initiative, results-oriented, goal-oriented and team-oriented
