The ED, Equine Business Segment ensures effective and optimal management of the domestic Equine business and related sales and profit growth. This role leads the development and implementation of equine sales, marketing, technical and distribution strategies for the assigned domestic business. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures effective and optimal management of the Domestic Equine business to meet/exceed corporate expectations while remaining aligned with geographical priorities.

  • Provides overall strategic direction to extended team, guiding the development of core brand objectives, strategies, and tactical plans to ensure attainment of short/long term goals.

  • Deploys department resources to ensure that financial and operational objectives are met, while ensuring that corporate standards of excellence, company policies, compliance and ethical business practices are upheld by members of the Department.

  • Develops annual objectives and budgets.

  • Forecasts both financials and physical inventory initiatives in Business.

  • Leads the Sales team, working with and through the regional managers to ensure sales performance meets or exceeds annual Company sales and market share objectives.

  • Develops, implements, and monitors sales strategies to be executed through the regional managers.

  • Exercises fiscal control on allocated budgets.

  • Ensures effective/collaborative partnership between the Sales and Marketing functions on budgeting process and strategic initiatives, including sales strategy marketing initiatives, and distribution.

  • Oversees and directs the creation and implementation of the business strategy in conjunction with business partners.

  • Ensures cross-functional collaboration, integration and alignment with Marketing, Sales, Production, Regulatory, and Legal in the development and implementation of strategies.

  • Oversees and directs annual business planning development for business.

  • Creates a performance-based team culture with clear accountability and a sense of urgency for achieving results.

  • Leads (recruits, hires, coaches, develops, motivates, manages, and monitors performance) managers and/or professionals in department specific knowledge, process, and procedures.

  • Sets job expectations, provides regular feedback, conducts timely Performance reviews, identifies performance challenges, creates action plans, and monitors the effectiveness of those action plans.

  • Completes Career Planning and competency assessments to ensure professional development of department members.

  • Ensures effective and collaborative partnership with Global Corporate Sales and Marketing functions to ensure that our global business strategy is appropriately developed and implemented.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of ten (10) years marketing, field sales or relevant work experience, including at least seven (7) years in progressive leadership roles required.

  • MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated End to End Profit and Loss accountability.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results through multiple management layers and leaders.

  • Equine Animal Health Industry experience including Sales and Marketing and national accounts.

  • Intrapreneurial drive with proven track record of managing a P&L and exceeding financial and other quantitative goals as well as qualitative goals.

  • Exhibits strong written & verbal communication skills along with excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to develop stakeholder relationships.

  • Demonstrated experience in large, global complex Matrix Organizations.

  • Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook).

  • Ability to coordinate large and diverse groups of professionals. (e.g., Veterinarians, analysts, market researchers, Sales representatives, People Managers).

  • Demonstrated solid decision making & negotiation skills.

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, initiative, and creativity and proven track record for innovation.

  • Show agility with a proven ability to evolve strategic & tactical elements based on research, data & industry trends.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and gain buy in from stakeholders to deliver results in a highly matrix organization

Eligibility Requirements :

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
