The Director, Capability Team Lead is accountable and responsible for global management of all capabilities related to the eCommerce technical environment within IT Marketing & Sales enabling customer value and infusing best-in-class technology. This includes global responsibility for compliance, talent management, performance, stability and cost efficiency of all IT processes and IT services provided to the Marketing and Sales organizations. Furthermore, the Director acts as counterpart and escalation point with local and global stakeholders considering cross-functional requirements and ensures appropriate IT services to enable business value. This functional area global leader will also be responsible as follows:

  • Manages and develops the IT human capital assigned in IT Marketing & Sales (M&S) functional area and cross functional chapters, act as role model

  • Drives needed level of harmonization and integration of the processes and application landscape for the functional area, in full consistency with the overall Enterprise Architecture.

  • Influences and executes on the functional area strategic direction in alignment with IT M&S organizational strategic direction.

  • Ensures appropriate systems and services are developed and delivered to the Marketing and Sales organizations.

  • Steers, leads, and manages all program/project management activities, product development and business consulting within the group of capabilities, engaging and acting as the business partner to the Marketing and Sales organizations and driving initiatives.

  • Increases efficiency and effectiveness of business processes by applying adequate Strategies, IT methods and technologies

  • Builds and provides strategic leadership in functional area.

  • Drives strategic alignment with the Marketing and Sales functions and enables strategies with technologies.

  • Scouts for innovation in the field of responsibility and beyond and implements innovative ideas to create business value.

This role has a flexible hybrid onsite work schedule 2-3 days per week in our Duluth, GA location dependent on business needs and should be located in proximity to this location.

Compensation Data

This position offers a base salary typically between $167,000 - $289,000.  The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance based bonus and or other compensation elements.  For an overview of our benefits please click here. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages 6-10 direct reports.

  • Responsible for annual budget of >1M USD.

  • Shapes and represents cross-functional strategic goals of the IT organization

  • Very detailed knowledge and experience in designing and operating global and local IT solutions.

  • Multiple years of experience in IT project and portfolio management.

  • Experience in virtual environment, passionate team player, fosters innovation, acts cost conscious and economic orientation.

  • Strong communication skills including capability to create and maintain business relations and working with business partners, vendors, developers and further enabling functions

  • Keeps up to date with latest technologies and how to implement in own area of responsibility

Business Value and Strategy

  • Enable business value and contribute to improvement of efficiency and effectiveness of business processes by applying adequate Strategies, IT methods and technologies. Manages the assigned capability in a way to represent IT strategy and to influence business decisions beyond the assigned business area.

Project and Program Management

  • Responsible for steering/leading and managing all program/project management activities and business consulting for the assigned IT M&S functional domain globally.

  • Contribute to improvement of efficiency and effectiveness of business processes by applying IT strategies, methods, and technologies.

Systems and services portfolio incl. budget and innovation

  • Responsible for further development and continuous improvement of the systems and services portfolio. Includes the responsibility to define the budget and to deliver all run activities within budget target as assigned. Responsible to identify budget efficiencies and deliver budget targets

  • Creates a culture of innovation to foster a competitive advantage for the functional area via technologies. Identify IT or Pharma industry processes or technologies that could provide BI with a competitive advantage. Proactively observe the market and looks for new opportunities in technologies or service

IT business partner

  • Act as global internal IT business partner for capabilities in scope.

  • Proactive connects cross-functionally to ensure communication and alignment beyond the area of responsibility.

Compliance and governance

  • Responsible for compliance of IT processes and services with laws, regulations, and SOP's with consideration for global requirements and its impact in the region.

People management and development

  • Manages and develops the IT human capital in assigned IT M&S functional area and cross-functional chapters, responsible for the selection, deliverables, and success of all hired resources associated with projects or run activities for the capabilities.

  • Acts as a role model and supporter for excellence in performance, organizational flexibility, diversity, succession planning, coaching, change management and personal growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IS/IT OR Master’s degree in Business Administration AND/OR Professional Training with 8-10 years’ experience

  • Senior executive leader with extensive IS and Business experience.

  • At least 3 years of leadership experience is needed, 4-6 year is preferred.

  • Must be a strong strategic thinker and motivator and understands what delivers true value to the business.

  • A solid understanding of all aspects of the pharma and / or biopharma and/or chemical industry in terms of Legal, Compliance, GxP, Computer Validation and Regulatory Requirements is preferred.

Must Have Skills:

  • Strong customer focus

  • Vendor management and strong negotiation skills

  • Must have an excellent understanding of both business and IT, must be highly creative, curious and a strong networker

  • Must have a track record in implementing technologies in a global environment (incl different cultures).

  • Must have excellent experiences in working in a support organization.
