The Senior Associate Director of Clinical Educators is responsible for the strategic direction and leadership of the BI ILD Clinical Educators within defined region. This position includes the development of the ILD Clinical Educator business plan and implementation of the BIPI sales/marketing plan, to assure optimal market penetration of BIPI ILD products within BIPI guidelines, policies and directives. The Senior Associate Director of Clinical Educators has an in depth working knowledge of the ILD multidisciplinary team with a focus on nursing and support staff markets across the continental US, commercial key accounts including specialty trade, public and private payers and national account influences. She/he will maximize the use of key company ILD resources and budgets to influence the ILD support staff market segment in an effort to educate and exceed ILD targets. The Senior Associate Director of Clinical will also ensure equal and consistent application of established policies and procedures in the management of employees to meet or exceed respective goals.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Recruits, leads, and develops a staff of ILD Clinical, Educators to educate patients, care partners, consumers, advocacy partners, ILD support staff, and other ILD HCPs on disease state and BIPI ILD products. Supports the sales force to meet or exceed annual company sales and market share objectives. Collaborates closely with Director of Clinical Educators, Zone and Associate Directors of Sales, Marketing, Director of PARD, Trade Operations, and other ILD stakeholders to coordinate national resources to maximize sales. Manages ILD Clinical Educators to a high level of productivity. Manages fiscal resources to within 2% of assigned budgets.
Identifies and develops top Clinical Educator talent. Defines clear objectives, allocates resources, provides development opportunities and conducts ongoing performance reviews. Ensures ILD Clinical Educator team is staffed with qualified, highly motivated personnel and contributes to building a positive culture within the ILD BU. Also serves in the player/coach role as needed to ensure optimal educational coverage of assigned region. Encourages direct reports to own their careers and take full advantage of BI career development offerings. Drives performance management of all personnel in the region including all disciplinary action to ensure personnel are meeting expectations in their roles.
Spends appropriate amount of time cultivating and maintaining relationships with relevant ILD customers, networks and stakeholders to understand/develop customer needs. Actively anticipate shifts in market conditions including trade and key core accounts, ILD nursing and other clinical professional societies, management organizations and large IDN's. Responds to the needs of the customer in a timely and professional manner.
Contributes to the development of the National Marketing and long-term Strategic Plans. Utilizes appropriate data sources to assist in the development of the ILD National Nursing and Support Staff Strategic Plan. In conjunction with Associate Directors of Sales contributes to the development of Regional business plans to ensure alignment with the ILD Strategic Nursing and Support Staff plan. Attends management and marketing meetings to recommend ILD support staff needs and product strategies to ensure that the Clinical Educators have the tools needed to provide educational programming to address unmet needs across the marketplace and increase our market penetration. Evaluates opportunities to expand the education on our brands beyond support staff to, Advanced Practice Clinicians, and other ILD multidisciplinary team members. Develops strategies for other HCP-to-HCP education on effective use of BI products. Provides feedback to senior management on the effectiveness and results of policies, strategies, and procedures within the Nursing and support staff sector. Executes a process for implementation and quarterly measurement of the ILD nursing and support staff plan in the region.
Develops the strategy for marketing engagement, field tactics and franchise initiatives that will optimally position BI ILD brands with the ILD nursing and allied HCP market segment. Supports the BI relationship with professional society leadership. Monitors clinical environment and has in-depth understanding of the processes and mechanisms for influencing treatment pathways and clinical practice guidelines through Local, Regional and National development committees. Understands the process and coordinates resources to appropriately influence ILD treatment guidelines and care pathways that impact BI brands.
Performs all company business in accordance with all regulations (e.g., EEO, FDA, DEA, OSHA, PDMA, EPA, PhRMA, etc.) and company policy and procedures. When violations are noted they are to be immediately reported to management. Demonstrates high ethical and professional standards with all business contacts in order to maintain BIPI's excellent reputation within the medical and pharmaceutical community.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required (Nursing/Pharmacy/Respiratory Therapy or related clinical Degree). MBA from an accredited institution preferred.
Active clinical license required.
A minimum of seven to eight (7-8) years of successful pharmaceutical experience, including at least one to three (1-3) years leading a team in ILD, Rheumatology, Immunology or similar specialty care experience or completion of Management Development Programs.
Track record of building high performing teams and working in a cross functional matrix environment
Excellent communications, objective setting, and influencing skills
Ability to travel in the US including overnight travel, approximately 50%, or more, depending on geography.
Should reside in the region
Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and other relevant applications
In depth understanding and proven experience in driving commercial success in the ILD market is a plus; Success operating within a matrix environment where direct reports and their constituents are interdependent on others' engagement with customer universe.
