Description:

The MBA Rotation Program (MRP) Manager position is designed to accelerate the early development of these individuals by offering the opportunity to experience several rotational assignments within a business function. The position will provide candidates: the ability to “learn by doing”; greater exposure to various departments within the business and a better understanding of Boehringer Ingelheim. Positions in the following business functions could be sponsored: Finance/Controlling, Human Resources, Human Pharmaceuticals, Information Technology and Business Development + Licensing. A Boehringer Ingelheim (BI) executive will sponsor the program, which will consist of several rotations (approximately 6 months per rotation) within the specific business function over a period of two to three years. This could include either a domestic or international rotation, contingent upon business need.

The MBA Rotation Program (MRP) Manager operates with a high degree of independence.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop a portfolio of project assignments to demonstrate cumulative learning and as a basis of discussion for future assignments.

  • Partner with business leadership and internal team members to identify and analyze business needs and provide innovative recommendations/solutions.

  • Organize projects and activities; prioritizing efforts by market need and/or greatest financial impact.

  • Performs all company business in accordance with all regulations (EEO, FDA, OSHA, PDMA, EPA, PhRMA, etc.) and Company policies + procedures.

  • When violations are noted/observed they are to be immediately reported to management.

  • Demonstrates high ethical and professional standards with all business contacts in order to maintain BIPI/BI USA's excellent reputation within the medical and pharmaceutical communities.

  • Work together with the Head of Boehringer Ingelheim Venture Fund (BIVF) USA to implement investment strategy of BIVF.

  • Explore interesting early scientific opportunities in the USA to help identifiying investment opportunities and areas of interest in alignment with investment strategy

  • Assist in preparing confidentiality agreements, term sheets and investment diligence of biotech opportunities

  • Network with local investment communities (VC firms, biotech startups, universities)

  • Working with BIVF team members on conducting due diligence of US investments in digital health companies and/or therapeutics company

  • Preparations of project review presentations and documentation for investment committee approval of investments

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree from an accredited institution required. Ph.D. or advanced Science degree preferred

  • Experience interacting with and influencing local and in some cases, global, business leaders.

  • Minimum of three (3) years business experience ( Pharmaceutical business, Pharmaceutical networks, Post doc and/or laboratory experience in pharma industry and/or academia with focus in biology, chemistry or medicine).

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and coordinate efforts with colleagues from multiple functional areas.

  • Experience leading projects (Project Management Skills)

  • Strong communication + interpersonal skills, including excellent presentation skills

  • History of successful performance.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook and database applications.

  • Foreign language skills (German and French) a plus but not required

  • Must be mobile, internationally or domestic; ability to travel required (short and long term - may include overnight travel).

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
