Boehringer Ingelheim Asset Accounting Specialist in Buenos Aires, Argentina
The position
The position holder is responsible for the execution, implementation, compliance and maintenance of Asset Accounting related standards, processes and procedures being part of the global business services service (GBS) portfolio (in close cooperation with Process Management, Local and Corporate Finance). He/ She autonomously performs special template developments, evaluates non-standard CapEx cases and supports the global business services Deployment Team during the implementation of new countries/entities being integrated into global business services e.g. by conducting end user trainings and testing. In addition he performs the Asset Accounting and CapEx related periodic routines as well as special tasks (like charging of intercompany leasing contracts) for the legal entities served by the global business services Center Finance Buenos Aires.
Tasks and responsabilities
Perform and monitor Asset Accounting processes and ensure compliance in all served countries
Perform and coordinate Asset Accounting and planning tasks
Capitalization, sale, disposal and modification of assets
Asset retirement by scrapping
Planning, performance and monitoring of month-end closing procedures, depreciation runs or sub ledger to GL reconciliations
Handling of CapEx projects during the entire investment life cycle (approval, structuring, opening, maintenance and closing)
Facility of the Corporate financial planning process by performing the CapEx and Depreciation simulation planning processes
Actual, Outlook and LTF planning, monthly reporting, process issues, trainings for the supported countries
CapEx reporting BI Prisma(e.g. coordination of data transfer from SAP/BO)
Standard reporting to Headquarters and CapEx project leads
Provide reporting of Asset data to BI insurance service provider
Provide user requirements for system development and maintenance and check systems for accurateness
Definition and maintenance of general system settings (e.g. customized asset classes, capitalization rules)
Supervise the day-to-day business (e.g. check open-item accounts for wrong postings)
Guarantee of first level support for Asset Accounting related topics for the assigned companies to the subledger responsibles
Periodic standard checks (e.g. closed cost center, not entered assets, assets under construction)
Corrective actions if necessary including documentation and archiving of the respective issues
Support and liaison with the audit; coordinate answers in cooperation with colleagues from OPUs, subledgers and/or tax department
Take responsibility of and assist in defined special projects, topics and/or working packages
Review of changes in accounting principles for assigned comprehensive tasks.
Preparation of and contribution to necessary implementation efforts
Support the integration of OPUs and functions into the GBSC
Support the development of Asset Accounting processes
Support the creation and maintenance of CapEx Projects and of asset master data
Support of process and system optimization
Performance of GBSC internal and external trainings
Sub-lead of projects
Evaluate and decide on specific capitalization rulings for very complex CapEx projects, e.g. large scale production facilities, special leasing or rental scenarios, considering specific tax requirements and the BI legal entity situation
Regulatory and/or organizational requirements comprise to guarantee compliance with relevant legal (Handelsgesetzbuch/HGB, local commercial and tax legislation)and contractual rules (BI regulations)and the GAAP including implementation of new requirements. Also the job holder has to follow all applicable company procedures and processes in particular with respect to Finance, HR, IT, etc (esp. the BI Accounting rules).
Requirements
5 years of finance or accounting experience - 2 years fixed asset experience.
SAP Management.
Advanced English.
