Boehringer Ingelheim Senior System Engineer for Non-clinical Drug Safety in Biberach, Germany

As our new technical lead as well as capability lead, you are an essential part of a cross functional and agile product team in this relationship and you will not only work on translating our business' needs into IT language and technical solutions but also to actively shape the transformation of our way of working into an IT product-based organization.

This position is part time eligible with 80%.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • In your new role as technical lead for the system landscape around the NDS Laboratory Information Management System “Pristima” you will drive and coordinate the development of the systems, its stability, and the integration of new solutions in collaboration with the business and external vendors.

  • As the capability lead for the product, you will work alongside the Product Owner to manage strategy, planning, and financials, while actively supporting our transformation from project organization into an agile product organization.

  • Moreover, as subject matter expert in the IT product “General Toxicology” you will implement demands in the areas of laboratory information management (LIMS), study coordination and instrumentation systems based on its short- and long-term roadmap.

  • As IT System Lead for the cloud system “Pristima” you will be in close alignment with the cloud vendor, our business colleagues and other IT services.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Natural Science or Bachelor’s degree with multiple years of proven working experience

  • Longstanding international working experience in IT or Drug Development departments

  • Broad knowledge in state-of-the-art technologies and experience in system architecture design, preferably paired with a deep technical understanding in laboratory information management systems

  • Profound knowledge in drug development processes and preferably in non-clinical drug safety processes

  • Experience in agile methodologies paired with an agile mindset driven by openness, respect, and continuous learning

  • Strong communication skills including capability to create and maintain business relations and working with business partners, vendors and developers

  • Fluent language skills in English and German written and spoken
