The Position
As Data Governance Expert in healthcare data domains, you will define, drive, and govern the biobanking data domain globally in a strategic, compliant, and sustainable manner. With your passion for data, you act as incubator driving the mindset change to data-centric thinking and with your strong hands-on experience linking data products derived from external biobanks into a quality and data governance framework you help make it happen.

Tasks & responsibilities
In your new role, you will understand and promote the value and use of external population-scale healthcare datasets and biobanks, bringing it to high quality, ensuring alignment with FAIR principles, and easily consumable across the value chain.
You will translate existing and new contracts from Biobanks into operational tasks to ensure compliance throughout the data life cycle.
Furthermore, you will engage in supporting negotiations with external data providers as required and act as adviser to senior management and legal.
You will oversee research proposals to data providers and maintain them pro-actively.
With your expertise, you will drive the operational governance of the data in the domain throughout the entire data lifecycle to leverage its full potential in data centric use cases and business processes.
You will provide operational adherence to data governance principles for the data domain and set quality and performance standards. In this context, you manage the stakeholders related to the data domain, give guidance, act as decision-making instance.
In addition, you will develop and maintain change management, effective communication, and training processes to ensure adequate quality and compliance awareness in close collaboration with Data Stewards.
Requirements
Advanced degree, e.g. PhD, in Health Business, Health Sciences (e.g. Pharmacy, Medicine or Biology) or Computer Sciences and equivalent work experience
Hands-on experience in Business Transformation / Digitalization and working in a healthcare environment
Hands-on and result-oriented working experience with external healthcare data domains and standards (e.g., OMOP, FHIR, FAIR) as well as a data domain specific compliance know-how such as but not limited to GDPR, GxP, CCPA, and IDMP
Expertise in data platform governance, including information / content life-cycle management and release management
Strong project and process management skills, as well as experience in change management and leading project teams
Ability to negotiate and influence across a matrix & cross-functional organization alongside with strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English; further languages would be an asset
