Boehringer Ingelheim Territory Manager - Companion Animal in Auckland, New Zealand

The Position

An exciting job opportunity is now open as a Territory Manager in our Animal Health business. This position is a permanent, full-time customer facing role based in Auckland. The territory will cover Auckland Central to North Waikato, Coromandal and Gisborne (fly drive) and will report directly to the National Sales Manager.

This is a diverse role calling on veterinary clinics, retail and other nominated customers to ensure that they understand and recommend our product range, are familiar with our company, business terms and activate marketing campaigns to exceed sales budgets.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Leverage business tools (CRM/Veeva, Sales Data analysis, Customer Segmentation) to assess and understand your market, product and accounts to identify challenges and growth opportunities.

  • Utilises customer excellence skillset, territory account management, along with business planning capabilities to execute our strategies to maximise performance within the assigned territory to meet overall sales objectives.

  • Use our Customer Excellence (CXE) sales model to engage customers, understand needs, build value and advance the sale. Position products based on a Business Plan utilising customer insights.

  • Training and development for retail and veterinary staff including vets, nurses and front counter staff to enable effective value-based selling to their consumers.

  • Leverage multi-channel and close-loop marketing (CLM) tools and resources with targeted customers.

  • Fosters a positive working relationship with the wider team, individual customers and accounts.

  • Work with customers, decision makers and cross-functional partners to manage accounts, understand needs/drivers, build customer value and maintain business relationships as a partner for companion animals.

  • Track progress against goals on a monthly basis. Account for promotional spending (rebates, free goods, promotional items, etc).

  • Record learnings/insights and call objectives in CRM. Leverages pre/post-call process to enhance customer engagement and impact territory performance. Maintains account/customer data/information in CRM. Manages expenses & regional events (general promotion) budgets.

  • Identify decision-makers and influencers within accounts/clinics and develops a working relationship.

  • Exhibit behaviours that demonstrate BI Values and AAI Culture (Accountability, Agility and Intrapreneurship). Demonstrates a growth mindset, is self- directed and open to coaching/feedback.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years in a territory sales role

  • Animal Health experience

  • Experience with CRM systems

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products

  • Experience in a veterinary and/or retail environment is highly desirable

  • Tertiary qualifications in business and/or science is highly desirable
