In this position, you will contribute to building and managing our financial data landscape by driving regional data analytics governance processes and collaborating closely with the Finance & Administration Leadership Team (FALT), which will give you a high level of exposure to senior leaders both in the region as well as at corporate level.

Your work will be critical in designing, developing, testing, and supporting innovative business intelligence, analysis, and reporting solutions. By focusing on data modeling and reporting, you will create impactful reporting solutions using Boehringer Ingelheim’s advanced tools and environment.

Additionally, you coordinate a cross-functional skilled team of internal colleagues and freelancers supporting PowerBI run, maintenance, and development within Finance & Administration. Ensuring that roll out, hyper-care, run, and maintenance processes are standardized, you will directly support intermediate users with complex upgrades and writing documentation.

This position is based in Amsterdam and reports directly to the Head of FACT MIDI.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Partnering:

  • Gathering, collating, analyzing and cleaning raw data from different functions and businesses at regional level, with due consideration for the influence of missing information, outliers, and confounding and extraneous variables.

Service Design & Execution:

  • Creating and updating data sets that evolve in tandem with business's needs, maintaining the respective documentation. Transforming and loading raw data provided into new and sustainable reports using PowerBI.

  • Training and encouraging staff to maintain complete databases that can be used for subsequent analysis and supporting intermediate users with complex upgrades. Ensuring hyper-care and sustainability of our existing and future tools.

Project and Demand Management:

  • Performing a liaison function between FALT and all providers of technical services. In close partnership with FALT stakeholders, influencing, matching and independently prioritizing complex demands to maximize value to the business.

  • Independently of the size of projects and/or demands, organizing and overseeing resources on a regional level to achieve the goals and objectives of the project or demand.

  • Developing PowerBI dashboard using DAX independently to meet stakeholder demand following industry standard (star schema, dax measures).

Governance:

  • Ensuring compliance with internal financial reporting requirements, user access to data compliance and management. Able to integrate row level security in PowerBI to grant access to end users. Setting and continuously improving technical standards.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TEAM

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in management information systems, finance, econometrics, statistics, or similar.

  • At least 2 years of experience as a reporting analyst.

  • At least 2 years of heavy PowerBI experience and technical knowledge with its coding language (DAX, M, SQL, Python) and able to create complex reports.

  • Good understanding of application security layer models in Power BI for access rights management.

  • Excellent command of the English language.

  • Data Architecture and data analytic understanding.

  • Excellent in analytical thinking and translating data into informative visuals and reports.

  • Strong skills in the demand management process, business consultancy, project management and information technology.

  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills.

  • Strong troubleshooting and report writing abilities.

  • Attentive and considerate team player.
